Port Macquarie Backpackers is an excellent hostel to stay at on your travels. The place has a very homely atmosphere to it and it is the best hostel to enjoy a few chill nights at. The small building allows you to really get to know the friendly staff and other guests staying which gives the place a great communal feel. 10/10 would definitely stay here again!

I stayed for 3 days as a solo traveler and felt very welcome and comfortable! Kitchen was always clean and tidy and well organised, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Perfect location. It would be better if the rooms had a few more storage options as there was only small lockers. And there was only two power points in the corner which made it tricky for everyone to use. Overall it was amazing and I would definitely go again!

Would 100% recommend stopping off at Port rather than taking the long bus from Sydney to Byron! Great little town to chill for a couple of days and when you do stop this hostel is the place! Had the best couple of days here, the staff are …

The hostel has spacious kitchen facilities, good comfy and cool beds, a good social and not far from the harbour/shopping area!! All the staff are friendly and welcoming! Hostel is clean and well kept! Would definitely come again!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve stayed here for almost 2 months and it truly felt like home. The rooms are very nice, especially the all girls room ;) The Hostel feels like home instead of a typical Hostel. Also it is super clean because everything gets cleaned in the mornings. If you have any questions you can always ask Ben, the owner. He will help you or give you tips. He’s also always up for a chat :)) You’re really close to the city Center, 10 min by foot and there are plenty of food stores nearby. I really enjoyed my time there and I would go back anytime. Thanks for the good time!!

This was my home away from home for 3 months! I really enjoyed this hostel. You have different places to relax and this is the best spot in town! You walk to the city in 10 minutes and you can also walk to the beach via the harbour and the coastal. What I really liked that it was very clean. Every morning they clean the hostel and every week they changed the bed sheets. Ben the owner is a really nice spontaneous men with a lot of interest in the guests, he is always in for a chat and make you feel very welcoming. Thanks for this amazing experience, I will never forget the people, the place and this home

This place is a joke the owner is a joke and will take any opportunity to rob you. The workers just like us travelling the world trying to do it right.. well done to you all always a pleasure. The owner Ben is nothing but a joke and a thief do not give them your card details as they don’t remove them from there system.

Loved my stay at this hostel! The welcome was very warm and the vibe is really good :) ended up coming back two times and will be back when traveling north again
